Why emergency preparedness training matters
Most of the harm in a workplace emergency happens in the first few minutes, before help arrives. Sites that come through well are not lucky: their people know the plan, know their role and have practised it.
The training also gives you what inspectors, insurers and client auditors look for: a plan your people understand, named roles and a record of training.
Fire is the most common emergency
Make sure your first response works: the right fire extinguishers near exits and risks, working alarms and clear escape routes. A fire safety audit finds the gaps.
Next steps after the training
- Teach everyone the basics with fire safety training.
- Train the people who lead with fire warden training.
- Test the plan with a fire mock drill and fix what it shows.
