HDFIRE A Single Interlock Preaction System with Electric Release is a specialized type of fire protection system designed for environments where water damage needs to be minimized, such as libraries, museums, or data centers. This system combines elements of both dry and wet pipe sprinkler systems to provide a reliable and flexible fire suppression solution. In a Single Interlock Preaction System with Electric Release, the piping network is initially filled with compressed air or nitrogen, similar to a dry pipe system. However, unlike a typical dry pipe system, the sprinkler heads in this setup are open and ready to discharge water when triggered by heat. The “single interlock” feature refers to the system’s activation mechanism. Activation occurs only when both a fire detection device, such as a smoke detector or heat sensor, and an electric release system are triggered simultaneously. This dual activation requirement helps prevent accidental water discharge, reducing the risk of water damage from false alarms. Upon activation, the electric release system opens a valve, allowing water to flow into the piping network and discharge through the open sprinkler heads. This ensures a rapid response to fire emergencies while minimizing the potential for water damage under normal operating conditions.
