GI pipe (galvanised iron, ERW) has a zinc coating inside and out that protects it from rust, so it is used for water supply, sprinkler and hose reel lines, and exposed or buried runs. Jindal round GI pipes come in light (A class), medium (B class) and heavy (C class) wall, from 15 NB (1/2″) to 150 NB (6″). Prices are per metre.

Light (A class): thin wall, for low-pressure use.
Medium (B class): water supply and plumbing.
Heavy (C class): thick wall, for fire water, sprinkler and pump lines.
