Safex CO2 (carbon dioxide) high pressure fire extinguishers for electrical and flammable liquid fires: 2 kg with horn or squeeze grip, and 4.5 kg with hose and horn. No residue.

Safex CO2 fire extinguisher

The CO2 fire extinguisher is the standard choice for electrical fires. Carbon dioxide does not conduct electricity and leaves no residue, so it is used beside panels, DB boxes, server racks and machines. Safex units have a controlled discharge mechanism with a horn; discharge takes about 9 seconds.

Which one?

2 kg, horn: offices, shops, small panels and DB boxes.
2 kg, squeeze grip: the same size with a squeeze grip valve, easy for one hand.
4.5 kg, hose and horn: electrical rooms, workshops, labs and factory floors.

Can CO2 be used on electrical fires?

Yes. CO2 does not conduct electricity and leaves no residue, which is why it is fitted near panels and machines.

Is CO2 good for wood or paper fires?

Not on its own; it can let deep-seated fires restart. Use an ABC or water extinguisher for class A risks.

Do extinguishers need refilling?

Yes. Get extinguishers checked regularly, refilled after any use and serviced as per the maker’s schedule. Ask us for refilling and servicing support.
