Some rooms are empty most of the time: electrical rooms, DG rooms, stores, server racks, archives. A modular extinguisher hangs from the ceiling and puts out a fire by itself: when the heat-sensing glass bulb bursts, it floods the area below with agent. No one needs to be there. Kanex modular units have a pressure gauge and a brass chrome plated discharge head.
Powder or clean agent?
ABC powder (MAP 90 or MAP 50): low cost, for stores, DG rooms, kitchens’ stores, workshops and parking.
Clean agent (HFC-236fa or FE-36): leaves no residue, for server rooms, electrical panels, UPS rooms, archives and labs where powder would damage equipment.
