Kanex ABC fire extinguisher
The ABC fire extinguisher is the all-rounder: one unit puts out fires of wood, paper and cloth (class A), flammable liquids (class B) and gases (class C). Kanex stored pressure models are always under pressure, with a gauge to show they are ready, and a brass chrome plated squeeze grip valve.
MAP 90 or MAP 50?
MAP 90: about 90% mono ammonium phosphate. Higher fire rating for the same size, so fewer or smaller extinguishers cover the same area. For offices, hospitals, malls, data-heavy sites and factories.
MAP 50: about 50% mono ammonium phosphate. Lower cost, good for shops, homes, vehicles and general use.
Which size?
1 kg and 2 kg for vehicles, homes and small shops; 4 kg for offices and corridors; 6 kg, the most common size, for factories, warehouses and commercial buildings; 9 kg for bigger risks. The body is coated inside and out against corrosion.
