Zoloto cast iron sluice valves, PN16, flanged: 1079D with rising spindle (50 to 250 mm) and 1079B with non rising spindle (50 to 300 mm), for isolation of water mains, pump houses and fire water lines.
Zoloto cast iron sluice valve
The sluice valve is the large gate valve of water mains: fully open it gives a clear bore with little pressure loss, and closed it isolates the line. Zoloto sluice valves have cast iron bodies, flanged ends and a PN16 pressure rating.
Rising or non rising spindle?
Rising spindle (1079D): the spindle moves up as the valve opens, so you can see from a distance whether it is open or closed. Preferred in pump houses and fire water lines.
Non rising spindle (1079B): the spindle stays in place, so the valve needs less height; for valve chambers, underground lines and tight spaces.

Rising spindle shows the valve position and suits pump houses and fire lines; non rising spindle needs less height and suits chambers and underground lines.
What does PN16 mean?
The valve is rated for a nominal pressure of 16 bar (maker’s rating).
Which size do I need?
